CONTORT RECTANGLE
This is a rectangular region which is dragged out by the mouse but only in the destination window. All distorting, blushing, and portion merging occurs in an ellipse which is just bounded by the rectangle. The contorting blushing etc. is maximum at the center of the ellipse and trails off to zero towards the edge. The algorithm is chosen such as to produce a seamless effect with no 'edges' visible.
